Starting Over!

So as you can see I copied and pasted my previous Blog Posts below. I am on my second round of going Gluten Free and want to be more diligent in my journaling and sharing the changes and things that I am learning. I went off Gluten previously for about a month and let me tell you it was HARD but soooo worth it. I truly felt better. Once I realized what an issue it was for me I decided I had better get tested for Celiac's Disease. I knew that in order for the test to be accurate I needed to go back on Gluten. So I did! Oh the excitement Cookies, Cake, Toast... You name it I ate it and I felt TERRIBLE! Well I went to the doctors about 3 weeks later and had a blood test by this time I was feeling horrible and my mood was super depressive. My family was very surprised at how much it affected me. Well I had the blood test done (as always almost passed out DRAMA DRAMA) and it came back negative however I did have high cholesterol Yippee!! Well to be honest with you I was not surprised it came back negative every test I have ever taken to figure out my "health issues" has come back negative. Well the next step was to see a Gastroencronologist so that they could do a biopsy of my small intestine. PROBLEM! Insurance here is not the best and I honestly could not afford it. Hunter needs surgery and we are still paying for his delivery amongst his other issues. Also they couldn't get me in to the GI until mid July which meant I had to be on Gluten that whole time! My husband said NO WAY! As did I! So long story short after much research and prayer i have decided to forgo the GI Doctor for now and just go Gluten Free. Today is my second day and I am feeling so much better. I truly believe that with this strict diet and exercise I will soon be feeling better and losing weight! My ultimate goal is to be able to overcome my issues with depression and hopefully pave a better way for my daughter who seems to suffer from the same "IBS" symptoms that I do. FINAL NOTE: I strongly advise anyone that thinks they have Gluten issues to get tested don't just go off of it. I truly want to but am not able to due to the poor timing in my life.

  1. Aedan got tested and came back negative too! But I know something is wrong because he is so cranky when he eats gluten! Thanks for looking at my blog, I am determined to get healthy and feel better about myself...I just thought, why not share it with others! Being open about the challenge has motivated me and helped me obtain my goals :) I hope you don't mind that I am adding you to my link :)
